The “Big Compost Experiment” (BCE) is a research initiative by the UCL’s Plastic Waste Innovation Hub. The Hub brings together a multidisciplinary team of experts from across UCL, who are creating and testing new interventions in eliminating plastic waste. By taking part at the BCE you will help them investigate the role and effectiveness of biodegradable and compostable packaging. The collected data will feed a live map of home composting activities across the UK. You can tested any item that displays the following manufacturer information: 'compostable' (only), 'home biodegradable', 'home compostable', 'suitable for home composting', TUV OK Compost 'HOME' certification mark or Din Certco 'HOME COMPOSTABLE' certification mark.
