ReTuna Återbruksgalleria is the world's first recycling mall and it is located in Eskilstuna, Sweden. The innovative shopping mall concept gives new life to old items through its unique way of material supply. Visitors are invited to drop off their old toys, furniture, clothes, decorative items and electronic devices at the mall’s depot called “Returen”. After a quick pre-sorting the items will be distributed to the different shops in the mall where staff then select what they want to refurbish, convert and refine before they sell it again. ReTuna also aims to participate in public education by organizing events and workshops. Moreover the folk high school Eskilstuna Folkhögskola also holds its education program “Recycle Design – Återbruk” right inside ReTuna.
