Machinery Manufacturing company Sesotec offers systems in the specialized preparation of materials for recycling. In an article on their website they explain about the challenges the industry is facing when it comes to recycling food garde plastic packaging materials by using food grade recyclates. “Food grade recyclate is recyclate that has been produced mainly from plastic food packaging and decontaminated by an approved process. The input material must meet strict specifications and be suitable for contact with food. Essentially, it is a matter of ensuring that substances from the packaging are not transferred to the food in quantities that pose a risk to health and that the food is not adversely affected in terms of taste, odor and composition.” Read more…
